Plot Summary

Plot: Brad Pitt stars as Frankie McGuire, a young Irishman committed to the struggle against the British, who comes to the U.S. on a secret mission. He seeks refuge in the U.S. masquerading as Rory Devaney, moving into the suburban Staten Island home of New York Police Sergeant Tom O'Meara (Harrison Ford) and his wife, Sheila (Margaret Colin) who know nothing about Rory's past. The tough, principled cop begins to enjoy the charismatic young emigre, who sees in Tom the father figure he lacks. When violence is unforgivably visited on Tom's home and family, he begins to suspect Rory is somehow involved. Tom finally discovers the truth about Rory, and now it is Tom who is on a mission-a pursuit not only to bring a criminal to justice, but to save his friend's life.
Rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.
