Plot Summary

Plot: 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts of JANE EYRE) has two objectives: To lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to smother the flame between his mother (Sally Hawkins of NEVER LET ME GO, MADE IN DAGENHAM) and an ex-lover (Paddy Considine of THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, IN AMERICA) who has reappeared in her life. Worried that his mom is having an affair, Oliver monitors his parents' sex life by charting the dimmer switch in their bedroom. Meanwhile, he attempts to woo his classmate, Jordana, a self-professed pyromaniac who supervises his journal writing - especially the bits about her. Based on Joe Dunthorne's acclaimed novel, Submarine is a captivating coming-of-age story with an offbeat edge.
Rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.
