Plot Summary

Plot: Clint Eastwood directs Kevin Spacey, John Cusack and Jude Law in this unpredictable, enchanting and true-life tale--based on John Berendt’s phenomenal best seller--of a shocking murder in the genteel town of Savannah, Georgia, Southern home to the most beguiling and eccentric characters imaginable. When New Yorker John Kelso (Cusack) comes to Savannah to write a magazine story about an elegant, exclusive Christmas party, he finds himself at the center of his host's, Jim Williams(Spacey), sensational trial for murder. Determined to write a book about the killing of Williams' younger, redneck lover (Law), Kelso encounters the exotic locals--among them an ex-attorney turned itinerant squatter’s voodoo priestess; and flamboyant transvestite cabaret performer, The Lady Chablis (herself).
Rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.
