Plot Summary

Plot: Inspired by the amazing true story, Dolphin Tale is a family film about Winter, a young dolphin who loses her tail in a crab trap, and Sawyer, the introverted 11-year old boy who befriends her. First meeting the rescued dolphin at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a marine rehabilitation center where she lives, Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) rallies his friends and family alike to save Winter by convincing a pioneering doctor (Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman) to create a unique prosthetic attachment to restore the dolphin's ability to swim. Directed by actor/filmmaker Charles Martin Smith (Never Cry Wolf), this inspirational family drama from the producers of The Blind Side also stars Harry Connick, Jr. as the marine biologist who rescues the dolphin, Ashley Judd as the boy's mother and Winter, the dolphin, who plays herself in the movie!
Rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America.
