Plot Summary

Plot: Superstar Tom Cruise earned an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award as an idealistic young American who proudly enlists during the Vietnam War and returns a quadriplegic. Struggling to overcome drug-addiction and depression, he turns his life around and becomes an outspoken critic of the war. Based on the true story of Ron Kovic, "Born on the Fourth of July" earned 8 Oscar and 5 Golden Globe nominations and won an Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Director (Oliver Stone) and a Globe for Best Picture. Co-starring Golden Globe nominee Kyra Sedgewick and Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Willem Dafoe.
