The Redbox Perks Program (“Program”), formerly the Redbox Play Pass Program, is brought to you by Redbox Automated Retail, LLC (doing business in Texas as DVD Rental by Redbox LLC) (“Redbox,” “we,” or “us”). The Redbox Perks Program is an update to the Redbox Play Pass Program. All Redbox Play Pass Program members are now Redbox Perks Program members. No action is required. See or click the button below (or go to www.rebox.com/help) to review the Program FAQs for answers to common questions about the Program. For Redbox Play Pass members, the FAQs explain how points and rewards earned prior to January 18, 2018 are treated in the Program and how we placed you into a Program membership level.

The Program is governed by these Redbox Perks Program Terms & Conditions (“Program Terms”) and the Redbox Platforms Terms of Use at redbox.com/termsofuse (“Redbox Platforms Terms”), including, without limitation, the Disclaimers, Limitations of Liability, and Indemnity provisions contained in the Redbox Platforms Terms and the requirement to resolve all disputes by final and binding arbitration on an individual and not a class-wide or consolidated basis. These Program Terms are Additional Terms as defined in the Redbox Platforms Terms. By participating in the Program you agree to these Program Terms and the Redbox Platforms Terms.


  1. Overview:

The Program is a customer-reward program that is available to eligible Redbox customers (see Section 2, below). To participate, you must have or create a standard member account with Redbox (“Redbox Account”). When you create a Redbox Account you are automatically enrolled for a Redbox Perks Program account (“Redbox Perks Account”). The login credentials for your Redbox Perks Account and your Redbox Account are the same. Redbox Perks Account members (“Members”) will be able to earn “Points” with each Qualifying Activity (defined below). Members will also be able to earn status in the Program by interacting and transacting with Redbox in various ways. See below for the current schedule of Qualifying Activities, the number of Points that may be earned for performing various Qualifying Activities, an explanation of the levels of status in the Program, how to achieve status in the Program, benefits of the levels of status in the Program and the current list of rewards available in exchange for Points. 


  1. Eligibility & Registration:

The Program is open only to legal residents of one (1) of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico who are 13 or older. When you create a Redbox Account, you automatically enroll in the Program. When you enroll in the Program, you may be required to opt in to (or have already opted in to) receiving marketing messages from Redbox. Redbox may, in its sole discretion, sort registrants for a Redbox Perks Account into different marketing-message groups such that not all Program participants receive the same marketing messages. You may opt-out of receiving marketing messages from Redbox at any time and doing so will not affect your ability to participate in the Program, and you may still receive transactional emails from Redbox. There is a limit of one (1) Redbox Perks Account per individual and email address. You agree that you will not participate in the Program under more than one (1) Redbox Perks Account. Corporations, groups, and associations are not eligible. You agree you will not sell, transfer or assign your membership or any membership rights. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for restricting access to your computer (or other device, as applicable) so that others may not access your Redbox Perks Account.


  1. Earning Points through Qualifying Activities; Rewards:

Points are accumulated by Members through the completion of “Qualifying Activities”. Completion of a Qualifying Activity occurs when, if applicable, Redbox collects the funds associated with the Qualifying Activity. Points may be exchanged for various rewards available in the Program. See below for a current list of Qualifying Activities, rewards and the Points needed for each reward, which is subject to change. 

Qualifying Activities only count towards the earning of Points if the Qualifying Activities are completed when you are logged in to your Redbox Perks Account or you use the payment card associated with your Redbox Account to complete the Qualifying Activity or, if prompted, you provide the email address associated with your Redbox Account during the Qualifying Activity. Activities that occurred prior to your establishment of a Redbox Perks Account do not qualify for this Program and will not earn you Points. The conduct that constitutes a Qualifying Activity and the number of Points earned for such Qualifying Activity may be changed by Redbox from time-to-time in its sole discretion. In addition to the Qualifying Activities generally available as part of the Program, Redbox may from time-to-time offer individual or specific Members one (1) or more bonus rewards or the ability to earn Points through the completion of other activities or may offer Members a one-time opportunity to earn Points in a new way (“Additional Qualifying Activities”). Some Additional Qualifying Activities may not be open to all Members. The details of an Additional Qualifying Activity, including a description of the conduct required and the number of Points available, will be as communicated to the eligible Member(s) by email or in another communication from Redbox.

Points will appear in your Redbox Perks Account within approximately forty-eight (48) hours of your completion of a Qualifying Activity. Redbox may from time-to-time change the number of Points required for a reward or other terms of the Program related to Points or rewards. If Redbox changes the Program terms, it may or may not convert your existing Points or rewards into different amounts or values or may eliminate them completely, as will be communicated to the eligible Member(s) by email or other communication by Redbox, all in its sole discretion.

Neither Points nor rewards in the Program have any monetary or cash value and they may not be redeemed for cash or any cash equivalent except under the Program. Points and rewards are not transferable and cannot be combined with other offers or with another person’s Points or rewards. Points and rewards are not your personal property, and are not descendible, may not be inherited, bartered, purchased or sold to any third party. Other exclusions and restrictions may apply. 

YOUR POINTS WILL EXPIRE ON A ROLLING BASIS ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE ON WHICH THEY ARE EARNED; HOWEVER, ALL OF YOUR POINTS WILL AUTOMATICALLY EXPIRE AFTER SIX (6) MONTHS OF INACTIVITY IN THE PROGRAM. TO STAY ACTIVE IN THE PROGRAM, YOU MUST: RENT OR PURCHASE A DISC AT A KIOSK, RESERVE A DISC ONLINE OR VIA OUR APP, PURCHAE A DIGITAL CODE OR RENT OR PURCHASE VIA OUR ONDEMAND SERVICE. REWARDS WILL EXPIRE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR TERMS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF CLARIFICATION AND WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EXPIRATION FOR POINTS IS MEASURED FROM THE DATE ON WHICH YOU COMPLETE THE UNDERLYING QUALIFYING ACTIVITY AND NOT FROM THE DATE ON WHICH THE POINT APPEARS IN YOUR REDBOX PERKS.


  1. Program Levels:

The Program allows Members to achieve levels of status in the Program based on the activity of the Member. Please see below for information on how levels are achieved and the additional benefits offered to Members who achieve a level in the Program.


  1. Loss of Points and rewards; Termination of Your Redbox Perks Account:

In addition to termination of the Program as detailed elsewhere in these Program Terms, Redbox may also revoke your ability to participate in the Program for: (i) your abuse of the Program, including, without limitation, your use of any “bot,” macro, or other automated means to participate in the Program or to earn Points; (ii) your failure to follow these Program Terms, the Redbox Platforms Terms, the Rental Terms, and any other terms and conditions applicable to the Program; (iii) the attempted or actual sale of any of your Points, rewards, or your Redbox Perks Account; (iv) any misrepresentation by you; (v) suspension or termination of your Redbox Account; or (vi) any other conduct deemed by Redbox, in its sole discretion, to be an abuse of the Program, to be detrimental to the interests of Redbox or its customers, or to be otherwise improper. If your ability to participate in the Program is revoked, any unused Points or rewards will automatically expire and your future participation in the Program may be prohibited. In addition, Redbox will have the right to take appropriate administrative or legal action, including criminal prosecution, as it deems necessary in its sole discretion. 

Redbox is not responsible for Points or rewards that expire, are lost or are redeemed due to fraudulent activity. Suspected illegal, fraudulent or other unauthorized use or misuse of Points or any other activity inconsistent with these Program Terms or the Redbox Platforms Terms will result in termination of your participation in the Program, which may result in the loss of all accumulated Points earned and rewards issued but not yet redeemed.

You agree to abide by the final and binding decisions of Redbox regarding the Program and your participation in it. Redbox is the sole arbiter of all issues relating to the Program, including a decision to remove Points or rewards or to deny rewards, and all of Redbox’s decisions relating to the Program are final.

You may elect to terminate your Redbox Perks Account at any time by contacting Redbox at 1-866-REDBOX3 (1-866-733-2693). If you remain eligible for a Redbox Account, termination of your Redbox Perks Account will not affect your Redbox Account. However, upon termination of your Redbox Perks Account, any Points associated with your Redbox Account will automatically expire and be forfeited. If you later elect to re-enroll in the Program, you will not have access to any Points associated with your previous Redbox Perks Account and your beginning balance of Points will be zero. Because having a Redbox Account is a requirement in order to have a Redbox Perks Account, termination of your Redbox Account (either by you or by Redbox) will result in the automatic termination of your Redbox Perks Account and the forfeiture of any Points and rewards then associated with your Accounts.


  1. Technology

Certain aspects of the Program may require that you and others have certain technologies enabled (e.g., browser cookies). If those technologies are not enabled, you may not be able to participate in or receive the applicable benefits from those aspects of the Program. 


  1. Modification of These Program Terms & Termination of the Program:

We reserve the right to modify these Program Terms from time-to-time, with reasonable notice to Members as described in this section. We will notify you of changes to the Program Terms by posting them to redbox.com and may also notify you by email to the address then associated with your Redbox Perks Account. The updated Program Terms will be effective as of the time of posting, or upon such later date or by such other method as specified by Redbox. The updated Program Terms will apply to your participation in the Program beginning as of their effective date. We also reserve the right to change, from time-to-time, the conditions for participation in the Program, the activities that earn Points or the number of Points awarded for those activities, redemption requirements, rewards values, the type of rewards for which Points may be redeemed, or the mechanism for redeeming rewards. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE THE PROGRAM COMPLETELY BY PROVIDING YOU WITH SIXTY (60) DAYS’ WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE IMPENDING TERMINATION TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR REDBOX PERKS ACCOUNT. In the event of such termination, your sole remedy will be to complete additional Qualifying Activities to earn additional Points sufficient to cause your then-outstanding Points to be converted into a then-available reward prior to the effective termination of the Program.

Earning Points for Qualifying Activities

Members can earn Points in the Program by completing Qualifying Activities. Qualifying Activities and the associated Points earned for those activities currently include:

  • Completing a paid transaction for the rental of a DVD
    • 100 Points/night
  • Completing a paid transaction for the rental of a Blu-Ray Disc
    • 125 Points/night
  • Completing a paid transaction for the rental of a video game disc
    • 200 Points/night
  • Completing a paid On Demand rental or purchase transaction at Redbox.com or via the Redbox app on Android devices
    • 75 points per transaction (regardless of the number of titles in the transactions)
  • Adding an accepted payment card to your Redbox Account (if no payment card has been added in the past)
    • 150 Points (and may only be earned one time)
  • Completing your Redbox disc preferences (if not already complete). Completing your Redbox disc preferences means filling out your preferred disc format and genre preference in your Redbox Account profile.
    • 200 Points (and may only be earned one time).
  • Downloading the Redbox Mobile App (if never downloaded before) and logging in
    • 150 Points (and may only be earned one time).
  • Setting up and confirming “phone and pin,”, which means providing your mobile phone number and selecting a four (4) digit pin in your Redbox Account and confirming your mobile phone number when prompted via SMS.
    • 250 points (and may only be earned one time).

IMPORTANT: Completion of a Qualifying Activity occurs when, if applicable, Redbox collects the funds associated with the Qualifying Activity. Qualifying Activities only count towards the earning of Points if the Qualifying Activities are completed when you are logged in to your Redbox Perks Account or you use the payment card associated with your Redbox Account to complete the Qualifying Activity. Retroactive credit will not be given. Points are not transferable.

Levels of Status

The Program offers four levels of status: Perks Member, Star, Superstar and Legend. The benefits for each are explained in detail below. Levels are earned as follows:

  • Perks Member – register for the Program and remain in good standing
  • Star - 10 paid qualifying transactions per calendar year
  • Superstar - 20 paid qualifying transactions per calendar year
  • Legend – 50 paid qualifying transactions per calendar year

A qualifying transaction is: (i) DVD, Blu-Ray, On Demand or video game rental; (ii) purchase of a movie from a kiosk; (iii) purchase of a video game from a kiosk; (iv) purchase of a digital code; or (v) purchase of an On Demand title. Completion of a qualifying transaction occurs when, if applicable, Redbox collects the funds associated with the qualifying transaction. 

Once you earn an elite status, you obtain the benefits of the level achieved for the remainder of that year and maintain those benefits through December of the following year.

Additional Points

Applicable Members receive additional Points for purchase of discs at kiosks and purchase of digital codes. Points earned are placed into Member accounts each time the dollar threshold is achieved and Redbox collects the money for the applicable transaction.

 

 

500 Points for each $5 spent on a DVD or Blu-Ray disc purchase from a kiosk or purchase of a digital code via authorized Redbox channels and 750 Points for each $5 spent on a game purchase from a kiosk.
