General Questions about the Redbox Card

What’s the Redbox Card?
The Redbox Card works like a gift card that you can use to pay for the movies you rent at Redbox. You can give it as a gift or keep it for yourself.

What types of Redbox Cards are there?
There are two types of cards: physical cards (which are mailed to you and fit in your wallet, but can also be used to reserve movies at redbox.com) and digital Redbox Cards (which are emailed to you and can only be used when you reserve movies in advance at redbox.com). You can buy both types of cards here.

Buying and Receiving a Redbox Card

Where can I buy a Redbox Card?
Go here to buy a card.

Once I buy a Redbox Card, how will I get it?
If you buy a physical card, it’ll arrive by mail at the address you provided. If you buy a digital Redbox Card, it’ll be emailed to you.

How can I send a Redbox Card to someone as a gift?
It’s easy! Just go here  and enter the recipient’s mailing address (if you’re buying a physical card) or email address (if you’re buying a digital Redbox Card). You can personalize a gift message, too.

If I send someone a Redbox Card as a gift, what will they receive?
If you send someone a card by mail, they’ll get an envelope from Redbox with a Redbox Card and a personalized note from you. If you send someone a card by email, they’ll get an email letting them know. Once they click on it, they’ll see your personalized message, the card image you picked, and their Redbox Card number and balance.

How long will it take my Redbox Card to arrive by mail?
That depends on which shipping method you pick. You can choose USPS First Class Mail, USPS Priority Mail, USPS Priority Mail Express, or FedEx standard overnight delivery. After you buy your card, with USPS Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express, as well as FedEx, you’ll get a tracking number so that you can check on your delivery date.

I bought a Redbox Card, and I think it was lost in the mail. What should I do?
If you think your card was lost in the mail, please contact us and we’ll work with you to send you a new one.

Redbox eGifts

What happened to the eGift program?
The Redbox Card has replaced the eGift program.  The new program is more flexible than the eGift promo code-based program, which only allowed use of one promo code per transaction and only for the first night.  The Redbox Card currently allows two movie rentals at a time and can be charged for multiple nights per rental.

Are my eGift codes still valid?
Yes.  Codes purchased through the eGift program never expire.

But what about eGifts for Video Games?
Currently, the Redbox Card cannot be used to rent video games like the eGift program offered, but make sure you register your card here, and sign up to receive our emails here to be notified of future enhancements.
