Kalindra is an aspiring poet, but truthfully she's an artist who's lost. Haunted by dreams deferred, wounded by a miscarriage and in a dangerous marriage, this Angeleno yearns of taking her poetry to New York. Adding to Kal's distress is the situation of her best friend Daphne, who is being taken advantage of by her loutish boyfriend. It is during this turmoil that the vulnerable Kal finds a new love in Curtis. As Kal helps Curtis with his unchallenged perceptions about his damaged past relationship and estranged young daughter, his influence leads her to dig deeper, find her voice, and ultimately, a sense of self-worth.
