Recently divorced artist, Laura, lives a quiet life in Marin County. When she sees a news story about an apparent suicide, she discovers that the victim, Nathan, sat with her on the jury of The Midnight Murderer Trial - the trial of Evan Barber, one of San Francisco's most heinous serial killers. Writing a book about the case, Nathan had been investigating The Midnight Murderer Case on his own just before his death. Although police rule Nathan's death a suicide, Laura is suspicious and picks up Nathan's investigation. Soon, strange things start to happen and Laura begins to believe that Evan Barber's spirit has returned, seeking vengeance. When the other jurors start turning up dead in number order, the pattern is too great to ignore. Now she must discover the truth about Evan Barber before her number is up. Has The Midnight Murderer returned from the dead to kill the jurors who sentenced him to die in the electric chair?
