How does it work?

What does my friend need to do in order for me to earn my online rental credit?
Your friend will need to click on your link and then complete an online reservation as described on the screen. They can reserve a DVD, a Blu-ray Disc®, a video game, a couple of each – it doesn't matter! It has to be a paid transaction, though – if they use a rental credit to rent it, you won't earn a rental credit of your own. And you'll only get one credit for a friend's verified transaction, regardless of how many movies or games they rent. Click Here To Get Started>>

  • Once my friend reserves online, how long will it take to get my online rental credit?
    When your friend completes a reservation using your unique link, you'll get an email letting you know that your rental credit is pending and subject to approval. It can take up to 72 hours before the transaction is approved and a rental credit is deposited into your account. You'll get another email from Redbox once your rental credit is ready to use.

  • How will I know if I've earned an online rental credit?
    Redbox will send you an email every time a rental credit is pending. If your friend's transaction is approved, you'll get another email letting you know that a rental credit has been deposited into your account.

  • How many online rental credits can I earn?
    There's no limit! Every time someone clicks on your unique link before the program ends and reserves a movie or game online, you'll earn a rental credit. You can only earn one rental credit per transaction, and all of your friends' transactions will need to be approved by Redbox before you can receive your credit.

  • What can I use my online rental credit for?
    You can use it for your first night's rental of a DVD, a Blu-ray Disc® or a video game when you reserve it online at redbox.com.

  • Can I earn an online rental credit by renting a movie with my own unique link?
    Sorry, no! You'll only earn rental credits when your unique link is used by people other than you.

  • Can I use more than one online rental credit for the same transaction?
    Sorry, no – you can only use one rental credit per transaction.

  • How can I find out when my online rental credits expire?
    To find the expiration date of your online rental credits, sign into your redbox.com account, then click on "My Account" at the top of the page. In the "Rental & Purchase History" section, click on "See My Online Credits" to see the issue dates, redemption dates and expiration dates of all your available credits.

  • I signed up for Refer-a-Friend before March 17, and I see that Redbox extended the program. Will my referral link still work?
    Yes it will! There's no need to sign up again. Log in here with your original username and password to see your link and spread it around to your friends.

  • Can my friends earn online rental credits, too?
    Sure! Once they've created an account, they can visit the Refer-a-Friend page to get a unique link of their own and start earning rental credits.

  • Once I earn some online rental credits, can I give them to other people?
    Sorry, rental credits are non-transferable. If they've been deposited into your account, they can only be used by you through your redbox.com account.

  • My friend reserved a movie online and I didn't get my online rental credit! How come?
    Once a friend reserves a movie or game online, it could take up to 72 hours to approve the transaction and award your credit. If you don't see your credit after 72 hours, it's possible that your friend's rental transaction wasn't approved. Please call the Redbox Customer Care team at 1.866.REDBOX3 (1.866.733-2693) to learn more.

  • Can my online rental credit be combined with other offers?
    Sorry, no - online rental credits can't be combined with promo codes or any other offers.

  • How long will my online rental credit last?
    Your rental credit is valid for ten (10) days after it's been deposited into your account.

  • What should I do if I have more questions?
