  • The amount that Redbox deducted from my account doesn't match what I rented. What's going on?
The amount deducted reflects the balance owed (or a portion of the balanced owed) to Redbox. The complete charge is listed on the line of your receipt that says "order total." If you have any remaining balance, you'll see it on the line of your receipt that says "balance due."

  • Why is Redbox doing this?
The purpose of the charge is to collect the balance owed on your rental.

  • When will you attempt to collect again, and for how much?
If there's still an amount owed for your rental (please check the "balance due" line on your receipt to see), the payment system will periodically attempt to collect the past due balance until it's paid in full. The timing isn't pre-scheduled.

  • I have all the money in my account right now. Can you collect it?
Nothing can be manually processed right now, but if you still owe a partial payment, Redbox will collect it automatically.

  • Can Redbox please notify me every time that money is taken out of my account?
Sure thing! If you entered your email address at checkout at the time you rented your discs, then every time Redbox deducts money from your account, you'll be emailed a receipt automatically.

  • Is this how Redbox will be collecting rental fees going forward?
Redbox payment policies haven't changed. You'll still be charged for your first day's rental on the day you swipe your card, and you'll still be charged for any extra rental days after you return your discs. If funds aren't available at that time, Redbox will attempt to collect the balance on a later date.

  • I still owe you for a past rental, but I need the money in my account for something else. Can you postpone collection attempts for a couple of days?
Sorry, but balance payment is an automated process, and the collection dates can't be changed.

  • Can you take a payment over the phone?
Sorry, no. Redbox is required to process all transactions electronically with the card you swiped at the kiosk.

  • Am I still able to rent from Redbox if I have an outstanding balance?
If you still owe some money for a past rental, whether or not you can continue to rent from Redbox will depend on the details of your case. If you pay your balance in full and you still have trouble renting after that, please contact the Redbox Customer Care team at 1.866.REDBOX3 (1.866.733-2693).
