How does renting a DVD online work?

- Visit redbox.com and find a title you'd like to rent by clicking on the image.
- Enter your zip code in the zip code field, and a list of nearby redbox locations will appear with the availability of your title indicated.
- Find the closest redbox with your title and click "RENT ONLINE NOW"
- If you've previously registered for an account, you'll be taken immediately to the billing detail page to confirm your rental.*
- After confirmation, proceed to redbox, press “ONLINE RENTAL PICK UP” and swipe your credit card (make sure it's the one you used to open your account.

Am I charged from the minute I click "RENT ONLINE NOW"?

Yes. But, once you've received your confirmation email, you're guaranteed that your title will be at redbox when you get there. Sure your buck could've earned .000006381 cents in a money market account during those 5 hours, but imagine how much more relaxed you'll be knowing you have your movie waiting for you.

What happens if I don't pick up my movie?

If you don't pick up your DVD by 9 p.m. on the evening following your online rental transaction, your debit or credit card will be charged for the first night + tax, and the DVD will be released for another customer to rent. There's just no easier way to break the news, but redbox is sure you can handle the truth.

Can someone going directly to redbox rent my copy before I pick it up?

No. If you've received your confirmation email or have waited for the confirmation screen on redbox.com. your title is reserved for you only.

I want to know what happens in the very, extremely unlikely occurrence that while my online rental authorization is being completed someone else rents my title.

Worry not. A DVD buffer is maintained to all but eliminate such an eventuality. If, for some reason however, your title is not waiting for you, please call customer service at 1-866-REDBOX3 or online. Please note that Redbox does not refund rentals or extra night fees that are older than 90 days.

Is it possible to rent DVDs in another redbox city to which I'm traveling?

Can promotion codes for free rentals be used when renting online?
|

Because Online rentals are a premium service allowing redbox customers to secure their DVDs before picking them up, redbox is only accepting promotion codes for in-person redbox rentals at any redbox location.
